Frequently Asked Questions
Day-Camp
1. What should my child bring to day camp each day?
Campers should arrive with a labelled backpack, lunch, at least 2 snacks, a water bottle, sunscreen, insect repellent, a hat, a towel, a swimsuit, weather-appropriate outerwear, a change of clothes, and closed-toe shoes with socks, unless we tell you otherwise for a specific activity or weather condition.
2. Can my child bring a phone, tablet, or other electronics?
No, unless we expressly authorize it for a specific activity or support need. Please do not send phones, tablets, gaming devices, cash, or other valuables, as we are not responsible for lost, damaged, or stolen personal items brought to camp.
.
3. What if my child has allergies, medications, or support needs?
You must tell us before camp begins about allergies, medications, medical conditions, behavioural needs, support needs, custody restrictions, and any other information that could affect your child’s safety, participation, or supervision. We may ask for additional instructions, forms, or emergency information before attendance starts.
4. What happens if my child is late or absent?
Please notify the campground as soon as possible using the contact method we provide for day camp communications. This helps staff plan attendance, activities, and supervision safely. Absences or late arrivals do not entitle you to a refund or credit unless otherwise required by applicable law.
5. Who can pick up my child?
Only a parent, guardian, or another person you authorize in advance may pick up your child. We may ask for identification or other verification before releasing a camper. If there is a custody order or other legal restriction, you must provide that information before camp begins.
6. What happens if I am late for pick-up?
Camp pick-up ends at 4:30 p.m. A late pick-up fee of $15.00 per camper applies for each 15-minute period, or part of a 15-minute period, after 4:30 p.m., unless we expressly waive it. Repeated late pick-ups or unpaid late fees may affect future participation.
7. Does the day camp run in bad weather?
Usually, yes. Day camp is an outdoor program, and activities may continue in rain, heat, smoke, or changing weather unless we decide that conditions are unsafe or program changes are needed. We may adjust, move, shorten, or cancel activities when reasonably necessary for safety, weather, staffing, or operational reasons.
8. Can my child swim during day camp?
No, not during day camp hours, unless we expressly say otherwise. Other water-related activities may be offered only when scheduled, supervised, and suitable for the group.
9. What happens if my child does not follow camp rules?
If a camper’s conduct is unsafe, seriously disruptive, threatening, abusive, or otherwise inappropriate, we may require immediate pick-up and may suspend, end, or refuse future participation. No refund will be given in those circumstances unless required by applicable law.
10. When are cancellation refunds processed?
If a cancellation qualifies for a refund under the Day Camp Policy, the refund will be processed after the campground has received, reviewed, and acknowledged the request. Processing times may vary depending on the payment method and booking system.
